In this article we delve into the main findings of the ESG report and the key actions that contributed to this rating.
What is an ESG Report?
ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting is a tool for assessing corporate responsibility with respect to environmental, social and corporate governance. ESG reporting helps companies measure their performance in non-financial areas and communicate transparently with stakeholders, customers, and investors. The importance ofESG reporting is growing steadily, including in view of the new European directives on sustainability reporting.
RAIT88 achieved a score of 63/100 in the “Environmental” section. The achievement is the result of a management system certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, which ensure an integrated approach to quality, health, occupational safety and the environment. The ESG report shows efficient use of resources, with energy management in line with the industry and GHG emissions intensity (scope 1 and 2) significantly lower than average. The energy-efficient air conditioning system and the use of energy from renewable sources contribute to this result.
Waste and climate change
RAIT88 has activated a waste monitoring and management system that has led, as of 2024, to the outsourcing to an operator that can guarantee 100 percent recycling. In addition, the company has no exposure to extreme climate change, a sign of good environmental risk management.
In 2024, the company expanded its fleet with hybrid and electric vehicles, demonstrating a real commitment to reducing emissions and adopting low-impact practices.
Social area: welfare, training and occupational safety
The social dimension of the ESG report gives RAIT88 a score of 64/100, the highest among the three areas. The company offers articulated welfare: supplementary health care, accident insurance coverage, smart working, parental leave and flexible benefits. Employee training is another pillar: RAIT88 promotes courses in safety, anti-corruption, ethics and anti-money laundering. The training index remains in line with the industry, with room for further growth.
The introduction of ISO 45001 certification has strengthened occupational health and safety protection systems. The rate of occupational injuries and illnesses is zero, a fact that testifies to the effectiveness of the measures taken. The workforce is 100 percent covered by national collective bargaining agreements. Three female resources were hired in 2024, improving gender diversity. The hiring of new under-30 resources and the adoption of formal diversity and inclusion policies are the next goals.
Governance: transparency and accountability
RAIT88 received a score of 57/100 in the Governance section. Despite the absence of a board of directors, the company has adopted a 231 Model, a Code of Ethics, and a whistleblowing procedure for the anonymous handling of reports. TheESG report showed no sanctions, fines, or litigation. Transparency is ensured by an internal/external control system. Obtaining the Legality Rating and appointing an ESG Manager are among the main opportunities for improvement to strengthen governance.
The ESG report highlights numerous positive elements that certify RAIT88’s structured commitment to sustainability and business ethics. Key strengths include environmental (ISO 14001) and safety (ISO 45001) certifications, waste management geared toward total recycling, low-emission mobility, and a constant focus on staff welfare and training. Also on the ethical front, the presence of Model 231 and a whistleblowing system reinforce corporate transparency.
Alongside these results, the report identifies some areas for improvement that represent concrete stimuli for RAIT88 in the future. In particular, the company intends to expand supplier evaluation questionnaires to include environmental and social criteria, promote the entry of young people and women into the workforce, start the path to obtaining the Legality Rating, and establish an internal figure dedicated to ESG reporting. The adoption of these measures will further strengthen the consistency between corporate values and daily operating practices, helping to consolidate RAIT88’s position as a model of responsibility and innovation in its industry.
